Board of Directors Meeting
August 12, 2008

The meeting was called to order by President, Sandy Mezger

Minutes:  Margaret Farley made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by Kaye Lynn Van Antwerp, motion carried.

Old Business:

New Business:
Chamber equipment and the use of it were discussed. Dan Reiter talked to the chamber about the bleachers and the use of them at Valentine Speedway. Other equipment such as tables and games was also discussed.  After discussion, it was agreed that anyone wanting to use any of the equipment would have to sign it out at the chamber.  Chamber members could use it for free and non-chamber members would be asked to rent them for $150 or join the chamber.

Committee Reports:

Yak About – A report was handed out.  

Deer Creek Days - A report was handed out.  Porta Potties were an issue.  None of the Bars purchased them this year.  We don’t know why.  When Deer Creek Days gets closer we will see if there is anything we can do.

Dave Johnston Power Plant Birthday Celebration – Jan will set up the booth and get a schedule set for workers.  We need to be ready by 10 am.  We can take down at 5 pm with a BBQ following.

Hunters BBQ – Tom will chair this event.  Anyone that can help please show up at  3:30 at the Gates residence.

Meet & Greet the Candidates – All that is needed is servers. It starts at 6 pm.

Halloween Carnival – There is no school on that day and a possible play off football game. Discussion was about changing the time or not to do it.  We will gather information and discuss it at the next meeting.  

Spurs & Lace Benefit Auction – We will hold it at the church and tickets will be $20.

Christmas Parade – no discussion
